Granny Smith Tomato

SKU: 1243 Available to ship: May 27, 2013 - Jun 5, 2013
Yes, we said Granny Smith Tomato! This hybrid plant produces good yields of 8-12 oz green tomatoes. The tomatoes are flavorful and stay green when fully mature with a hint of gold coloring. Excellent tangy flavor, but still sweet, this slicing tomato is perfect for fried green tomatoes, pickling, and it can be diced without becoming mushy which makes for the best Salsa Verde. Perfect for grilling too. Keeps for up to two weeks after picking. Indeterminate 72 days.

"1st time I grew green tomatoes"

Bob McCauley on 3/10/2013

Comments: Last year decided to grow green tomatoes. Your plants arrived healthy and continued that way all through the growing season. Produced an healthy amount of green tomatoes. Then never turned yellow, so I never picked them. Can not say how they tasted fresh or pickled.
