This is an authentic, very large, Italian heirloom tomato used all over Italy for canning. We chose a variety from Tuscany, named for a mountain in Bergamo. Huge plum type tomatoes grow to 4 1/2" long and 2" across. They have a meaty texture and full acidic flavor along with excellent sugar content for the best sauces. 80 days semi-determinate

"Great in Colorado"

Margaret on 9/7/2008

Comments: Fantastic. To me, these were much more flavorful than my Romas (grown in Boulder, Colorado). I think these tomatoes like the heat... and they are simply fantastic as pasta or pizza sauce. I tried the same variety in SF Bay Area, and they were good - but, not as complex of flavor as out here.

"HUGE"

Lisa on 9/6/2008

Comments: These have been very steady producers for us and absolutely huge. We can't get over the size and heft of them. We have been making sauce with them and they break down into a thick, rich sauce.
