Not exactly New since it is from 1915, and only the plants are Dwarf as the tomatoes are full sized 8-12 oz. old fashioned beefsteaks. These rare dwarf or short plants of flavorful heirloom tomatoes with that distinctive heirloom texture on a plant that only gets 2 feet tall! These tomatoes for gardens are perfect for containers and smaller gardens and the flavor is definitely full sized. Only 60 days!

Growing Tomatoes requires a few basic things for success:

  • ·        Planting after your last frost date in Spring
  • ·        Good Soil, with enough room for each plant to grow, weed free
  • ·        6+ hours of sunlight
  • ·        At least 1” of rain per week or supplemental watering to achieve the same amount.
  • ·        Organic Vegetable Fertilizer blended for Tomatoes, with calcium included, used as directed.
  • ·        Strong Supports for the plants to grow on.
  • ·        Proper pH level from 5.5-6.2
  • ·        Daytime temperatures from 70-85, Nighttime temperatures 55-71 degrees for flowers to form fruit

I am in zone 5. This was an early tomato for us here. The flavor was very good for an early tomato. I highly recommend it.
